AFC Preseason Fixture Bureau

Last updated: Wednesday September 11, 2013 20:45

The Amateur Football Combination season proper begins on Saturday 14th September 2013 for all Senior and Intermediate Division sides. Sides in lower divisions will not be given fixtures until Saturday 21st September 2013 unless they specifically request them by contacting the appropriate League Match Secretary. Any sides wishing to play league games on Saturday 7th September should contact the appropriate League Match Secretary.

This page is intended to assist clubs in arranging preseason games for Saturday 27th July, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st August, 7th and 14th September as it is often a problem for fixture secretaries arranging such games, and can take a number of fruitless telephone calls.

Should any club wish to begin playing league games earlier they should contact their divisional match secretary directly.

If you wish to arrange a preseason fixture then please email Danny McConnell with the following information:

1. Your club.

2. The team for which you wish to find a fixture (e.g. 1st XI).

3. The division this team plays in.

4. Date for which you require a fixture.

5. Home or away fixture preferred (if no preference, indicate so).

I then simply publish these details on this page.  Once you have arranged a fixture please let me know so I can remove you from the list, so please keep checking this page regularly as other club/team details are added.

Please note that it is down to clubs to then arrange suitable fixtures and that these fixtures are not controlled by the AFC. We will not appoint referees to any of these games, and the arrangements for games are made between the two clubs.

To check where clubs are located (to arrange local matches) look at the Club Details and Maps pages. Clubs are also shown with their current AFC divisions. Current contacts for AFC Fixture Secretaries can be obtained here.

Clubs may also wish to try the AFA Fixture Bureau - telephone 0844 980 8207. Details of this can be found in the AFA Handbook.

Please note the importance of contacting me when you have arranged a fixture. If your club remains on this page, then other clubs will waste your time and theirs trying to contact you when you are not available for games! This season we will be levying fines against clubs who do not inform us that they should be removed from the fixture bureau.

Please also be aware that this page will not be updated daily, so please allow 48 hours for availability to be posted here.
