Amateur Football Combination Rules

8. Qualification of Players

8 a:  Contract players, as defined in Football Association Rules, are not permitted to play in the League.

8 b: A player having taken part in matches for any Club affiliated to any County Football Association shall not be allowed to be transferred to or play for a Club in the League without first proving to the officials of the intended Club that the player has discharged all reasonable financial liabilities to the previous Club or Clubs, and a Club official may not accept such a player without first ascertaining whether such claims have been discharged to the satisfaction of the Club, or Clubs, for which the player last played.

8 c:  No player shall play for more than one Club in the League in the same season without the consent in writing of the Chairman of the Fixtures Committee. The Executive Committee shall decide all disputes between Clubs as to the eligibility of players.

8 d:  Clubs shall keep a Register of playing members and a record of teams selected and those actually played. The information must be produced to the Chairman of the Fixtures Committee within 7 days of a request for it.

No player aged under 15 years of age on 31st August 2006 shall participate in any game.

Note: from season 2007-08 the Football Association will be requiring that all players must be 16 or over to participate in AFC Football.

8 e:  A register containing the name, address, date of birth and date of registration of all players registered with each Club, shall be kept by each Club and be submitted to the Chairman of the Fixtures Committee not later than 31st October, and again with all additions or deletions within 7 days of any request for it.

8 f: (i)  Any team playing an ineligible player or players may have the points gained in the match deducted from its total and may be fined and/or otherwise dealt with at the discretion of the Fixtures Committee, who will normally order such games to be replayed.

(ii)  In addition the team may have further points deducted from its total at the discretion of the Fixtures Committee and may be dealt with in any further manner which is thought to be fit.

The Fixtures Committee may, in exceptional circumstances, award any points deducted from a Club under this Rule to the opponents in the match in question, subject to the match not being ordered to be replayed.
